My name is Chris Hernandez and I am the proud Principal of Wells MS. This is my 25th year in education and my 19th year as a school administrator. I am a native of Riverside and have lived in this great city for the past 34 years. I received my BA from the University of CA, Riverside, and my MA from California State University, San Bernardino. I am excited to serve the community of Wells MS and my goal is to build positive relationships with all members of the school community. Here at Wells, we strive to provide a high-quality education consisting of practical experiences, engaging lessons, and standards-based instruction for our students. Together, with our school community, we will successfully prepare our students for high school and beyond.

Hola, my name is Ofelia Cervera.  I am honored to serve our Wells community as Assistant Principal. I have been in education for 23 years and learning is my passion.  I am a first-generation college graduate.  My bachelor's degree is from the University of California- San Diego, where I majored in Chicano Studies-History.  I have a master of arts in teaching from Chapman University and a doctorate in organizational leadership from USC.  I joined Wells in 2019 as the Instructional Coach and have enjoyed working with our students, staff, and familias.  My studies focused on providing learning opportunities that are student-centered and strength-based. 

My professional experience includes teaching kindergarten for eleven years, grades first, second, fifth, and middle school.  I was an EL Instructional Specialist and Middle School Instructional Coach.  

I believe every student should have the right to learn in a nurturing, safe, and positive environment, where they are seen and valued. I feel my role is to empower students to build agency and self-advocacy. My desire is for students to aspire to reach their full potential.

My name is  Michael Green, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal for Wells Middle School. I have over 13 years of educational experience working at Elementary. Middle and High Schools. I have received my BA and MA from San Francisco State University and my MA in School Counseling from Sacramento State. I aim to provide a positive school climate where all students feel safe and learn what it means to have "Phoenix Pride!" All students will learn to take pride in themselves, support others, and obtain the academic skills to succeed at Wells and beyond.
